Cycles baking maybe freezing (but GUI still responding) #41025

Short description of error
Started baking process, time bar advance <5% and stay there "forever" (I wait 15~20 min). GUI is still responsive.

Open:

Download/unzip/open:

goto property panel, render tab and press "bake" button.

Note: Very likely I had something missing there but an abort/warning would be nice to have. Cheers.

It also freezes entirely with the test file when cancelling the bake job, all the button highlights etc. then stop working as well.

The only bug here is that the UI is not responsive (which is a known limitation and will be addressed eventually.
The reason the baking is taking forever is because you are baking with 600 samples.

My suggestion is to try the fastest passes first (any of the Color passes - Diffuse Color, ...) and if things look correct, you bake your final result (possibly with small samples, and increasing it).
