Exact steps for others to reproduce the error
Open blender and use default cube. delete camera and light. save as a .blend file. Open unity. Use your file explorer to find your cube.blend file. drag and drop that file into unitys asset folder structure.

✘ Merged into T40907.

Same thing happens to me. I drag model into Unity, and then blender stops working. A message in the Unity console then says that the .blend file could not be converted to .FBX

I'm getting the same problem, even thought I've never had it before.
