Wrong position for vertex and edges when vertex beveling #41565

System Information
win 8.1, 2x gtx 780 msi

Blender Version
Broken: (example: 2.71 8bb318b, see splash screen)
Worked: (2.71 release version)

Just try to extrude a vertex. The previous way of getting an ngon was much more useful than this. Also where did the smooth option disappear when beveling?

Maybe an advanced option for selecting result between current version, ngon or even quad only when possible.

The issue is rather unclear, you even seems to mix two different ones (extrude, and bevel?).

Also, please always attach a .blend file to reproduce the issue…

Didn't save it and can't replicate the issue anymore. I guess you have to close the bug report for now. Sorry for the trouble.

No worries. There were some fixes in that area afair, so maybe it's indeed fixed. But please report back if the issue re-appears.

Ok so here it is again. Although not sure if it's even a bug.

Make Sphere. Select top vertex. Bevel it and you get those weird edges positions. I expect to get an ngon or maybe a quad only area.
