System Information
Windows 7 64 bit

Blender Version
Blender 2.72a Official
Worked: (optional)

Short description of error
Basically when I'm generating image sequences I used to have corrupted frame, this is not the first time I see this. I've been working in many scenes with different workflow and set ups and basically looks like this is a random error in the module that writes the images into the disk. I'm usually working with PNG formats so I'm not sure if this also happens to other formats.
Also what I notice is that re-rendering the frame again it solves the problem with no user action at all, for example in my actual project I have a folder with 213 PNGs, some of these images are corrupted (frame 71, frame 82, frame 86...) so I have to re-render again these separated frame and then it works fine.

I cannot provide you more information because as I said it happens under different workflow and set ups.

Hmmm… issue with that kind of report is that it is likely something relatively specific to your environment - if such issue happened to many people, it would have been reported since ages. And as usual, we cannot work on something we cannot reproduce.

So we need at least more info:

  • Does this happens to you since a long time (i.e. did 2.6x already had it? 2.5x? etc.), or is this something that appeared with 2.72?
  • Does it happens in any project you’ve rendered, or only on some specific ones?
  • Please check with other pic formats (jpeg at least e.g.).
  • If possible, try to reproduce this on an other machine.

No news in 1 week, I have to close this. Can be reopened when the requested information are provided.

Btw, are the images corrupt or just the thumbnail?

Hi,

Sorry for the delay, I've been testing more about this issue and I still have problems, it might be due to the fact that a program that is running in the background is creating some conflict whle writing data in the hard drive, these days I'm switching off this software and trying again, I should have more information in about 10 days or so.

Thomas, the problem was not only the thumbnails (not a big thing) but the files themselves. I couldn't open the files in any software because they were corrupted randomly.

I agree to close this until I can collect more information.

Thanks.
