Deleting a branch is permanent. Although the deleted branch may continue to exist for a short time before it actually gets removed, it CANNOT be undone in most cases. Continue?

Short description of error
After adding a new effect strip to the vse via python the strip isn't inserted correctly. It's displayed only as a line (length=0, but it has a length) and hasn't any effect.
Exact steps for others to reproduce the error
