System Information
Windows 8.1 / Nvidia Geforce 710M
Blender Version
Broken: 2.73
Short description of error
I´d tried to use the IvyGen. If I insert a new Ivy in Object-Mode to a given Object appears no tool-shelf to change the default parameters.
It´s no matter I try to insert the inner side of the mesh (flipped normals) or the outside of the mesh (default normals).
I tried it with different objects.
Exact steps for others to reproduce the error
Try with Blender v2.73 to insert a new Ivy on an given Object.

Here on Windows 7 Pro w/SP1, 64bit, Blender 2.73 official stable release (Hash: b4d8fb5) (zipped version) the Ivy Generator seems to work fine:
You might try to run Blender from a Windows console in debug mode (...\blender.exe --debug) to see if there are any clues in the messages generated by the program.

Please check 'Global Undo' is not disabled in your user preferences, Editing settings (and that you have a reasonable amount of undo steps too).

Good Morning!
Since I´d read your messages I´d tried to solve the problem in debug mode, but there´s no error message while I use the IvyGen.
Now I´ve solve the problem and can say that there´s no bug.
At the moment of use of IvyGen I´d expected that the Tool shelf apears instantly, but there just appears a "plus-sign" in the lower right corner of the tool shelf. If I´d clicked it, has the Ivy-Gen appear normaly...
It´s easy to overlook, so as I suggest you to bind the maximised appearence of the IvyGen-Panel in the tool shelf with the first creation of Ivy from the Curve-menu.
Sorry for this false bug report and greet thanks for you help.
Greetings
noha
