It's possible to select another object when in edit mode by ctrl+clicking on it but BSurfaces doesn't recognize that selection. That could be missing functionality but the error from that disables global undo.

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error

  • Open attached test .blend
  • Enable BSurfaces addon from user preferences
  • Click add stroke from the Bsurfaces tools on the tool shelf
  • It gives an error and global undo gets disabled in user preferences edit section
