System Information
Linux 64

Blender Version
2.74/2.75

Short description of error
I found that raycast happens on the other side of a mesh. But it should not be. It makes a big problem to make my python tools. I guess this is a bug.
This happens mostly in Ortho view but it also happens in Perspective too.

Here is my video test: http://youtu.be/5B1FKccc1Hw
Here is my screenshot explanation: cache0.png

And here is the blend file to test: test_clone3.blend
I just modified a bit the template in Templates->Python->OperatorModalViewRaycast.

I hope this is fixable as this is very important for my custom python tools to make correct raycast on a surface.

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error

  • Open My blend file
  • Apply Subsurf Modifier at the Sphere so that raycast to be fast
  • Run the script on the right panel
  • Search "Raycast" in the Space menu
  • Draw with the Left Mouse and stop with the Right Mouse
