Cloth Simulator: "Free all bakes" doesn't clear bake, but "Free Bake" works
Closed, ResolvedPublic

Description

System Information
Debian 8, nVidia GTX970, intel 4770K

Blender Version
2.74

Short description of error
In a cloth sim with just 2 meshes with 1 quad each, when I delete one mesh and press "Free All Bakes" and then "Bake All Dynamics" in the Cloth Cache panel, the effect of deleting the mesh is not taken into account. When I press "Free Bake" and "Bake", it works.

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error

  • Load File http://www.pasteall.org/blend/36913
  • Delete the larger vertical plane
  • Select the smaller horizontal plane
  • Press "Free All Bakes" and then "Bake All Dynamics" in the Cloth Cache panel => The quad moves around strangely
  • Press "Free Bake" and then "Bake" in the Cloth Cache panel => The quad doesn't move as expected.

Michael

Please test latest 2.75 release from download.blender.org and latest nightly builds from builder.blender.org to see if the issue still exists in there. 2.74 is quite old now..

Dear Sergey,

I tested with 2.75. The effect is the same. Do you think it is required to test the nightly builds? 2.75 is just a few days old. Or was there a lot of activity in this area lately?

Best regards,

Michael

Can confirm the issue.

Hi,

I posted some debugging to bf-committers
Briefly, the problem is a difference between 'Bake' that clears the cache and 'Bake All' that does not because of cache flag conditions.

Hope this helps
