Diffuse color picker not working for a second object. Have to turn off node editor in cycles to work #45358

System Information
Ubuntu 14.04 LTS Graphic Card: Intell Haswell Mobile

Blender Version
Broken: Blender 2.75 Official Release (c6b042b)
Worked: (optional)

Short description of error
When I color a cube in cycles with the diffuse picker it is fine. When I add a plane next to the cube and try to color it, it doesn't work. I have to go to the node editor and turn off "use node" to color the plane with the diffuse picker. Is that normal? Should I have to open the node editor to turn off the "use node?"

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error

Cycles always uses nodes an the reason you see diffuse color on the default cube is because of some compatibility purposes. The idea is to make it so if you're using Cycles and no material nodes are assigned to object then Blender Internal's Diffuse color is used as Diffuse BSDF.

New objects, however, are default to new node system and have Use Nodes enabled by default if they're created when Cycles render engine is active.

So if you're looking into controlling diffuse materials for Cycles you really need to use Diffuse BSDF and control it's Color input. If you're looking into a way to control viewpot's Diffuse color then go to the settings panel of Material and and tweak Viewport Color from there.

So thanks for the report, but it's not a bug.
