VSE: cutting meta-strip crashes blender #46062

In the attached file VSE-CutCrash.blend, when pressing 'K' in order to cut the meta-strip, the application will crash. The attached file points to a video strip, which you do not have; but this makes no difference in behavior, so it should be reproducible.

I tried this same setup with a different files, there the problem did not occur. I am unsure what's the reason for this.

I can confirm that this is still happening very frequently. However I have counted how many times I have pressed 'K' to cut a strip and it has been anywhere between 2 to 50+ before a crash occurs.

However I don't believe it's specific to cutting. As I have accidentally pressed M, J and L when trying to cut and Blender still crashed.

And the behaviour can be quite different. Some times I get the Windows spinning cursor, sometimes the application totally freezes, other times Blender instantly crashes.
