System Information
Works on all operating systems and graphics cards.

Rendering in cycles with transparent film has an odd bug.If you hold left-mouse and rapidly move your mouse as an image renders, you will notice a significant boost. Is there any way this boost could become the normal rendering speed?
Al you need to do to reproduce this is have anything in cycles with transparent film, and render as an image or animation. Then hold left click in the image editor as the orange squares produce the scene, and rapidy move the mouse all over the screen.

This is either an illusion or there is something specific about your system or .blend file that causes it to render slower than usual.
Please provide complete information about your operating system, graphics card, if you use GPU or CPU rendering, and a .blend file that shows the problem.

Cpu rendering.
I have not changed a single thing in the file. I have asked other users to tell me if it did the same for them, but they used their own files, and it happened to them also.Raw Copy.blend

This is just a complete mirage… You have the feeling it’s rendering quicker, because dragging the mouse that way forces tens of updates of the Image space each second, while by default it only refresh once or twice a second during render (which enhances render time, btw, since it consumes less CPU cycles and avoids too much locking between threads too)…
For the fun, made a test here (using your file and a render size of 4000×2000), without touching anything your file renders in 14 seconds, and with continuously dragging the mouse in image windows, it takes… over 1 minute!
