Linux version 4.3.4-200.fc22.x86_64 (mockbuild@bkernel02.phx2.fedoraproject.org) (gcc version 5.3.1 20151207 (Red Hat 5.3.1-2) (GCC) ) #1 SMP Mon Jan 25 13:37:15 UTC 2016
NVIDIA Corporation GM107M [GeForce GTX 860M] (rev a2)
blender-2.76-5.fc22.x86_64

After rendering, while "Save As Image" is available and works, "Save Image" is always grayed out - even when I've done a "Save As Image". Mouseover reveals the error in the title: "Disabled: image not found"

Normally I'd ask other users about this, but Googling shows only a single hit to this error message (in Russian), and the user got no help there either. So it's apparently something rare. I've not done anything special, as far as I know... Under user preferences / render output it's set to "//". I can click on the folder and it opens up to the current directory just fine.

This is intentional, the Save Image menu item is intended for image data-blocks that have an associated file on disk.

Renders on the other hand don't, even when saving the image the render remains a different kind of data-type, which has layers, passes and render-slots.

Closing since this is working as intended.
