System Information
Windows 8.1
GTX 580

Blender Version
Broken: 2.77
Worked: I can't recall this happening in 2.76, but I could be wrong

Short description of error
After some time of working, randomly, I would find certain textures black (or sometimes, it seems, a grayscale gradient).

At first, I thought it may be a texture issue but nothing seemed to resolve it, but then I found when I reloaded the file, the texture is no longer black. I was able to record an instance tonight:
TempBlackTextureProblem.gif

This is a similar case to #47907 in that I don't know what causes the problem. Not sure if they'd be sharing a root cause though.

Seems random so I can't give steps to reproduce, but reported it just in case.

Well… It’s same issue as with the other bug - a random error on a single machine is totally unmanageable for us, we need to be able to reproduce it reliably to be able to investigate it.

Further more, this really looks like a GPU problem (memory errors maybe) - would be nice if you could test your PC with another graphic card, or run some of those 'GPU stress tests' you find on the web… Further more, same tips as in other report remain valid too.
