Blender does not remember its windows size in the Unity desktop environment

As reported in (https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/blender/+bug/1575695):

HOW TO REPRODUCE:

  1. Start Blender.
  2. Maximize its window.
  3. Click on the menu "File -> Save Startup File".
  4. Close Blender, and start it again.

RESULT:
The window is not maximized.

Blender sets the _NET_WM_STATE_MAXIMIZED_VERT, _NET_WM_STATE_MAXIMIZED_HORZ properties.

Tested with Gnome3, OpenBox & Sawfish and they all work correctly, this is almost certainly a bug in Unity.
