System Information
Microsoft Windows 10 Pro
Versión 10.0.10240 compilación 10240

GeForce GTX 970
Nvidia geforce Driver 365.10

Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-6700K CPU @ 4.00GHz, 4001 Mhz, 4 procesadores principales, 8 procesadores lógicos
RAM 32,0 GB

Blender Version
Broken: 2.77a official.

Hi,
Reading and practicing with the Blender manual, on https://www.blender.org/manual/rigging/armatures/bones/selecting.html says:

"You can deselect the active bone and select its immediate parent or one of its children using respectively Select ‣ Select Parent ([) or Select ‣ Select Child (]).
If you prefer to keep the active bone in the selection, use Select ‣ Extend Select Parent (Ctrl-[) or Select ‣ Extend Select Child (Ctrl-])."

This doesn't work on my spanish keyboard. You get [ pressing AltGR + `, and ] pressing AltGR + +.

I discovered that pressing ? or ¿ (next to the 0 key on the spanish keyboard) blenders interprets it as [ or ]. That is even weirder :-O

Curiously the Text editor allows me to use the AltGR combination to write the desired - [ ] characters.

Either on an English Keyboard or Spanish one, [ and ] keys are physically next to the p key.

This makes extremely difficult to follow the documentation, or even use any videtutorial from blender.

I'm almost certain there will be other key combinations that will present a problem.

Cheers,
David

Thanks for the report, but no bug here. We simply cannot cope with all possible layouts, Blender default shortcuts are based on english standard keyboard, other countries may have to customize their shortcuts.

We do have a few special workarounds, like for numbers on main keyboard (US layout has them directly, many others like french etc. have them accessible with shift), but this is not possible for everything.

Thanks Daniel and Bastien.

So for what I understand the [ key on the English Keyboard even beign physically on the same position will not produce the same key code.

I notice that trying to configure the Input on the User Preferences as Bastien suggested, if I locate all the commands using [ as a key-Binding, press the AltGr + [ key. The AltGr part really is interpreted as Shift.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AltGr_key

Maybe that one will be worthy to add, allowing more even shortcuts in Blender?

Cheers,
David
