What blender version has been causing it to crash?
What graphics card do you have? if you can go help -> save system info, both the gpu and blender version will be listed there.
Is 2.77a not considered a version and Intel HD not considered a graphics card?
Intel HD is not considered a graphics card, but rather a brand -- https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Intel_HD_and_Iris_Graphics
2.77a was listed under the blender version that worked... not broken.

Please:
--factory-startup
commandline option) (this will ensure whether this is a userpref or addon issue or not).-d
option and attach as text file here any error printed out in the console (do not paste it directly in comment).2.77a is broken, I'm using Windows 8, and Intel core i3
everything auto updates
idk how to check that
it says they are unstable
Idk how to find graphics card if that's not it
and idk how to do everything else on this list. I'm not a programmer or developer.
Then do what you can from the list. Right now there is not enough information for a developer to fix the issue.
I have and Bastien both have suggested doing this.
This file will allow people to find out your GPU and driver versions, which we then can test to see if they need updating or not.
