ubuntu 16.04 64 bits blender master hash d5cf90f NVIDIA titan black

No crash, here.

Maybe it is relative to your machine responsiveness.
By scaling gloves, you are asking updates for a chain of shrinkwap, solidify and subdivision surface.

Are you scale once or several times ? Sometimes in blender-2.78-d5cf90f works longer, can scaling several times. Like this:

Later check on my second machine.

I have an i7-4770k 32gigs of RAM.

I can scale it several times and constrained to global or local axis without crash.

I cannot reproduce the crash either here (linux64, latest master), neither in release build nor in debug + asan build. There’s a lot of visual artifacts at some scale levels though…

Anyway, the issue reported can't be reproduced so far, and has been moved to the BF Blender: Unconfirmed project.
If 2 other people aren't able to redo the bug after 2 weeks, it will be closed.

CPU: intel Core2Duo e8400
OS: openSuSe 13.2 64bit
Ram: 8GB DDR2
GFX: Radeon HD7770 1GB

blender: Blender 2.78a 64 bit official build latest stable - works without crashes.

blender from buildbot: blender-2.78-0a446d7-linux-glibc219-x86_64.tar.bz2 - crashes

CPU: intel Core2Quad q6600
OS: openSuSe 13.2 64bit
Ram: 4GB DDR2
GFX: GT 8600 256MB

blender: Blender 2.78a 64 bit official build latest stable - works too ! No crash/shutdown !

blender from buildbot: blender-2.78-0a446d7-linux-glibc219-x86_64.tar.bz2 - blender don't start

I tried on my laptop and could reproduce the crash :

Antergos :
4.8.13-1-ARCH kernel
64-bit
4 × Intel© Core™ i5 CPU M 460 @ 2.53GHz
3.7 GiB of RAM

· With Blender 2.78 (sub 0)

      build date: 2017-01-16
      build time: 02:51:54
      build commit date: 2016-10-24
      build commit time: 12:20
      build hash: e8299c8100
      build platform: Linux
      build type: Release

==> No crash

· With Blender 2.78 (sub 4) -> downloaded package name : blender-2.78-d5cf90f-linux-glibc219-x86_64 (the version that you mentioned)

      build date: 2017-01-10
      build time: 03:00:40
      build commit date: 2017-01-09
      build commit time: 12:12
      build hash: d5cf90f
      build platform: Linux
      build type: Release

==> Crash

I just had to select some vertices and then scale them. The crash happened every time.
But since the second version is older, this shouldn't be a problem, should it?
Just use the newer version, or am I missing something?

Here is the report :
