Blender Version
Blender V2.78

Short description of error
I have created a scene importing a FBX file (12mb). Then i made an animation (simple, only movement in "X"). After that i want to export this geometry and animation in .FBX, but when I try to save it the program stop tu run, it says that it do not respond and I had to close it.

I tried to do again all the process, saving geometry in two parts but it always happen.

Thank you

  • We need the .blend file! Please follow our submission template and guidelines and make a complete, valid bug report, with required info, precise description of the issue, precise steps to reproduce it, small and simple .blend and/or other files to do so if needed, etc.
  • Exporting heavy files (big geometries, etc.) can take some time (several minutes or more in extreme cases). FBX exporter prints out some progress info in the console, in the mean while Blender is indeed totally locked, no bug here.

I have imported a FBX file in Blender, then I have animated it (simple animation with four keyframes). After that I tried to export to FBX again, but Blender do not respond. I have wait for around one hour, but blender is still with no respond.

I make the process a lot of times, but it do not go well. I only want to make a simple animation of this geometry and export them to use this in another program.

Thank you

You are trying to export a file with 320 Actions, presumably with default settings, which means Blender generates an FBX animation for each of those 320 actions times all animated objects (over 300) - even without any simplification, it’ll takes ages (and generate huuuuuuuge FBX file). Further more, your actions are very, very long.

So the first thing you want to do here is disable the 'All Actions' option (and probably the NLA Strips one too), such that you only export 'visible' active animations. And this is still long (several tens of minutes), 320 actions each over 1k frames…

Anyway, no bug here. Please seek user support on user forums like blenderartists.org or blender.stackexchange.com.

Thank you very much.

I will try to do this actions to export the animation. I undestand that it is a complicate geometry and animated, but working with other problems and geometries very high poly I was able to expor to FBX.

Sorry for the mistake using this platform, then i will seek user support. Thank you
