A progressive render job can easily get more than 250 tasks, so the task list should get pagination.

Half-assed done; the task list now fetches all pages so that all tasks are shown. A better way would be to actually let the browser show & fetch them page-by-page (because pagination now gives us no advantage at all, only more complex code).
