System Information
Win7, Radeon HD3650

Blender Version
Broken: 2.78c Hash: e92f235283

Short description of error
If Unit setting is used in scene settings the resulting .STL export isn't scaled correctly

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error

  • use standart cube scene
  • go to scene settings and set unit preset to "centimeters" (Metric, Unit Scale: 0.0100)
  • export the cube as .stl using the 3D Print Toolbox with scene scale setting enabled
  • check the file with OpenSCAD or Netfabb free and find the cube to be 0.02mm instead of 20mm
  • repeat for other scalings

Question - Did Cura have "Automatic scaling for small objects" turned off?
Just a sanity check.

STL files have no notion of units, so basically everyone does different things with them... Not sure there is any "right" solution here, so will consider this as known issue related to the format itself.
