System Information
Win7 64Bit / GTX960

Blender Version
Worked: 2.78c
Broken: 020bbbb, d25ab3f

Short description of error
Blender crashes while translating geometry (or while canceling operation with RMB) on object with Shrinkwrap Modifier, with Proportional editing enabled and Pivot set to Individual Origins.
Bug won't appear if Proportional editing is disabled and/or Pivot is set to another mode.

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error

  1. Download and open file:
  2. Press G to move geometry and cancel operation with RMB.
  3. Press G once again and Blender will crash.

With this file I have 100% repro but it seems that viewport orientation also affect how often Blender crashes in this scenario. Try grabbing, moving and canceling operation with other vertices.

Event Timeline

Tested on latest build and bug is still present. It turns out object doesn't need to have Shrinkwrap modifier. Individual origins and enabled Proportional editing still apply.

Moreover, if I enable "OpenGL Depth Picking" in User Preferences, Blender sometimes won't crash in this scenario but I can't do anything other than move cursor in particular viewport area. After that only way to get out of Blender is to press ALT+Tab and kill process in Task Manager. It happen only twice to me.
