Short description of error
Unable to change viewport local camera after appending another scene.
(Settings->Global Scene is not checked)

To speculate a bit - I understand that maybe a viewport has no active camera info stored for each of the scenes. In which case, instead of a pseudo-arbitrary value, could it maybe default to scene's active camera?
It may seem like just checking "use scene's active camera" could be the solution, however that also links scene layers, which more often than not is not a viable option.

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error

  • Open, current active camera for the viewport is "Camera.001":
  • Select "Camera"
  • Press control+Num0, OR change viewport local camera manually to "Camera" or remove at all, OR activate and deactivate "use scene's active camera".
  • Change scene to "main" and back to "Scene"
  • The viewport active camera is back to "Camera.001"

when I open the file, "camera" without .001 is the active one in viewport and also the scene camera. So I guess you mean local camera and not active?
Anyway, I can confirm the bug. switching between scenes restore old local camera after it was removed

Sorry - Yes, I meant viewport Local Camera.

It's indeed not saved per scene, but would not consider this a bug.
