System Information
Windows 10 - NVIDIA GeForce 8600 GT
Blender Version
Broken: (example: 2.78b 3c04373
Worked: (optional)
Short description of error
(1) Only can import R12 DXF files. Should be a warning or something to this effect.
(2) Cannot add texture to imported DXF files.
Exact steps for others to reproduce the error
Based on a (as simple as possible) attached .blend file with minimum amount of steps
(1) Attempting to import a DXF file from any version beyond R12 will only produce 8 short squiggly lines in the viewing area.
(2) Followed 4 different tutorials and 2 different directions for texturing a mesh object in Blender and all failed at the same point.

hi, could you provide a test file please.
This task seems a duplicate or your stl task with the same issue.
#52798
we really need a file to see what is going wrong.
I attached 2 files the first one Test.dxf is a single object x = 57.5”, y = 6.5” and z = 1.75” and the origin of one vertices is at x = 0, y = 0, z = 0.
The Second file (Table.dxf) is a table of multiple objects the base is a single merged object while the top consist of nine objects representing the physical top I was hoping to texture each of these boards separately. On vertices of the table top is at x = 0, y = 0, z = 24.75”.
I am not sure of what scale factor to use for the output of AutoCAD to input to Blender but apparently some form of scaling would be appropriate.
I am using the output to go to Second Life so I will be outputting to a Collada file format.
Any other information you need please do not hesitate to ask!
Thanks for your time and effort.
Roy
