Short description of error
Vertex Paint Slow
Exact steps for others to reproduce the error
Based on a (as simple as possible) attached .blend file with minimum amount of steps
I am noob so was vertex painting the cube with lettering i.e top bottom and a left right
This simple operation was fast at beginning but slowed down to a crawl.
I uploaded the file
My system is ryzen 7 1080ti with 32 GB ram blah blah blah

Report is talking about vertex paint, but your file is configured to a texture paint. SO it is a texture paint which is problematic for you?
What are the exact steps reproducing the error? In order to fix the issue we need to be able to reproduce it. For that we need clean steps of how to do so.
Sorry for the incorrect information
I was indeed just using the texture paint feature on the unit cube .
I just used the texture paint to produce the UV texture for the cube.
However as I was using the tool the painting started to lag and the lag increased as I continued using it .
This caused the feature to be unusable .
That is pretty much all I did.
