I have created a patch for the inclusion of material-type animation (more specifically restricted now to diffuse_color property) into the current .fbx import addon. I hope you will find it useful. Tested and works in version 2.79

@vasarhelyi thanks for the patch, looks OK… Would be nice if you could attach here one or two FBX files embedding such animation though, otherwise I cannot really test it. ;)
