iMac 2013 Core i5, NVIDIA GeForce GT755M and driver upgrade since July to fix my 2.78C version crash bug with CUDA, and everything work just fine until 8th Oct.

Short description of error
Render animation with PNG, the document were nothing wrong to render whole 450 frames, but I add some new cube and apply some times boolean and bevel, didd nothing to my keyframe, and it keep crashing while rendering, the first time it render frame 1 to 165, and then, every 5~8 frame crashes
Exact steps for others to reproduce the error
Based on a (as simple as possible) attached .blend file with minimum amount of steps

Questions:
You may be able to work around this bug by setting the render Display to Keep UI and not showing the image editor during render.
Developer note: This looks like a bug in the image cache, maybe a race condition somewhere.
MEM_CacheLimiter_unmanage
doesn't seem to be protected bylimitor_lock
, which is at least suspicious. A lot of the other cache code does not seem thread safe either, so maybelimitor_lock
is insufficient, or there is already locking at a higher level andlimitor_lock
is useless.Sorry, I'm back.
My mac were strangely slow for a while. After I create this form to report bug, I found iOS notice me to upgrade the system, so I took 5 hour to upgrade my iOS, then, the CUDA of NVIDIA also ask me to upgrade the driver for my graphic card, it's in the preferences panel, the program ask me to update 2 things:
1, install CUDA Update(I think it has something to do with the new iOS system)
2,CUDA Driver Version: 9.0.222 (Update Required) GPU Driver Version: 10.26.6 355.11.10.10.15.102
After "Install CUDA Update", my blender back to normal, and it works alright all day.
But the second Warring - to update GPU Driver, I haven't found the new version for mac (all new drivers for Geforce 755M are for windows and linux)
So, it's a strange problem solved in a strange way, thank you all.
