If you add a custom camera setting manually to the executable directory of (//scripts/presets/camera) and restart blender, the loaded list in camera properties and the list in Movie Clip Editor (tracking) are not the same. The newly added entry is visible in the Camera properties, but NOT in the list of Camera presets on the Movie Clip Editor.

(prerequisite: a movie clip (mp4) for tracking, can use an ordinary clip filmed by a mobile phone)

  • Open a terminal emulator window
  • Change directory to the (ie. cd //scripts/presets/camera).
  • Copy an existing python script of camera setting there to a new name (ie. cp Samsung_Galaxy_S4.py Samsung_Galaxy_J5.py).
  • Open blender.
  • Set the '3D View' window to 'Movie Clip Editor'.
  • Click on 'Open' and load the prerequisite clip into the editor.
  • On the Outliner, select the 'Camera'.
  • On the 'Properties', click the 'Camera' tab (camera icon), click on the 'Camera Presets' list to identify and select the newly added Samsung_Galaxy_J5 entry.
  • Now switch to the 'Movie Clip Editor' (Press 'N' if the righthand panel is not visible), select the 'Camera Presets' in 'Camera' Tab and you won't find the 'Samsung_Galaxy_J5' entry there.

Tested on version 2.79.4 (2018-06-12 15:57, Hash: 2788202417) on Linux.

Here is the image listing Camera object properties:

This is CLIP_MT_camera_presets vs CAMERA_MT_presets.
Former stores presets in the scripts/presets/tracking_camera folder, later in scripts/presets/camera.

Reason to seperate these is (I think) to be able to customify the behaviour when you actually add a preset (see e.g. 5d20db1d87)

Dont think there's a bug here, closing (unless @Sergey has something to add...)
