Worked: I think it worked on 21.06.18, lastest build back then.

Short description of error
The option to limit texture size in 'Simplify' tab breaks microdisplacement.

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error

  1. Get 8k texture, turn on adaptive subdivision, turn on true displacement.
  2. Try to render / viewport: works nice
  3. Set simplify to 4k (8k works OK - since textures are already 8k) or anything lower - microdisplacement stops working, picrel.


.blend, but with no textures (copyrights). I guess just get some big texture and it'll work.

Appears to work fine for me now. If it still doesn't work, we need a .blend with texture included, even if it's not the real one from the original file.
