Blender Version
Broken: 5bd731b6730
Worked: Yes

Short description of error
When opening a file with and trying to adjust an object with modifiers, you will try to click the object and find that it is unresponsive. Go into edit mode via pie menu function, no kind of object selection will work (vert, edge, face). Afterwards, try turning off the collection itself you will find that despite the collection being turned off the object still remains visible. Carrying on any further trying to work will result in a blender crashing.

I am having difficulties uploading a file, please bear with me,

These are the instructions:
In the outline window, click on the collection, labelled "Marshadow"

if is visible try to turn it off again, it should still stay there,

afterwards continuously try to open the rest of the sub-collections a within the parent collection "Ghosts", a crash will eventually happen after opening a few of them.

I have found this issue of unresponsive collections when I factory reset as well it seems to be a bug affecting meshes because when I click the collection to turn off the default cube remains visible.

I will attempt to upload.
