I believe 2D texture performance may be particularly poor on macOS, compared to other operating systems.

Poor performance with Filmic and 2D Texture is somewhat expected, because this is done on the CPU and the codepath for this is known to be rather slow.

Brecht Van Lommel (brecht) claimed this task.

GLSL is now the default and there have been other sequencer optimizations, which should fix the main issue. Optimizations beyond this I would not consider a bug.
