Blender 2.8 Appending Collections Crash #59503

System Information
Operating system: Windows 10
Graphics card: Geforce GTX 1080

Blender Version
Broken:

2.8, 9149e89421, blender2.8, 2018-12-16, 23:25

Worked: (optional)

I was animating a scene. The scene included two of the same appended model. This model had textures and was parented to an empty. I was animating in the Eevee render view. After animating for a while, there were some graphical glitches on the screen: Render looked absent of lighting, then the models became pure white shaded. I closed blender. When i attempted to reopen the project, blender would instantly crash. I tried to restart working on this scene, the same problem happened again.

Append a model from another project. Append it again. Apply a world Hdr map. Switch to Eevee render view. Turn on bloom, reflections, motion blur. Animate both models differently. Adjust the curves in the graph editor. Animate the camera. switch back and forth between cycles and eevee. Close the project and attempt to re-open.

I attached both times I animated this scene: neither will open for me.

The file also crashes.

Could you try to reduce the number of steps required to reproduce the bug? While it could be that all these steps are necessary, but I doubt it.

Just attempted to recreate it again. Nothing crashed it until I appended the collection a 3rd time then deleted all the parts from the collection. I'm going to try to recreate it again to simplify.

NEW STEPS TO RECREATE:

  1. Delete default cube, lamp, and camera.
  2. append the collection in the attached file
  3. Create a camera and press Numpad 0 to look through it.
  4. Enable "lock camera to view" for the camera
  5. Select the collection appended in step 2
  6. append the collection in the attached file again
  7. delete the collection you just appended and all the objects that were in it.
  8. close the project - when you attempt to reopen it, it should crash.

I can't reproduce it.. Not sure if I'm doing something wrong.
Is the step with the camera necessary?

Can you upload a prepared file that crashes when you load it? (maybe in a zip together with the xwing.blend file)
