Graphics card: AMD Radeon R9 M395X 4096 MB

Blender Version
Broken: Blender 2.80 beta, Jan 31

Short description of error
When using the animation player, if you close it, it crashes

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error

  • Render any animation. You can use the default scene and just set the length to 4 frames or whatever
  • Go to Render > View Animation
  • The animation plays
  • Now close the Anim Player window, or press Esc

The Animation Player crashes

This is reproducable every time here, with any format

I'm unsure what you mean with Go to File > Play Rendered Animation.

Do you mean the Render -> View Animation (ctrl f11)?

Anyways I can't reproduce the crash with the player on linux it seems. So I guess this is an other mac bug.

Right, yes, that's what I mean. The bug could be OS-specific.

For the records I cannot reproduce this on Windows - and here the View Animation button is on Render > View Animation (Ctrl + F11)

Duh, yes, it's Render > View Animation. That was just a brain fart. Anyway, the bug still stands here.
