Short description of error
Mask doesn't match from VCE to preview.
Exact steps for others to reproduce the error
This makes masking, particularly animating masks EXTREMELY difficult, time consuming and arduous.

Unfortunately I don't know how the masking workflow works exactly. Could you create a screenshot/gif that explains what is wrong?
Also can you replicate the bug without an actual movie (maybe just with a color strip?)? That would make sharing the file easier.
Hey Jacques...take a look at this screenshot.
See how the mask should technically cut off his hair and the top of his head but it doesn't in the preview? Yet at the same time, the rest of the mask is more-or-less perfect. I should note that I made sure that the frames I was working on matched the frames I am seeing in the preview.
Hello,
I'm still not able to find a resolution to this issue and I don't see how I can test it with a color strip. There doesn't seem to be a way to open a color strip in the Movie Clip Editor.
Thanks!

I have re-triaged this report and can not reproduce it.

I know it's quite late to try to resolve this, but problems you have may be caused by number of issues such as errors introduced by using proxies, time offset of clip editor vs strip or resolution mismatch (not sure if MCE scale footage to scene output resolution)
Ideal case to look into would be only one image, that you can share.
Can you please check if this is still an issue in latest build?

Your video clip (where the mask was created) has a different aspect ratio than your scene (what you get from VSE), that is why they don't match.
If the problem persist please send a new report with a reproduceable file (where we can F12 and see something)
