Result of research done in #61461
Attributes are known at forehand where they are stored, but the
primitive_attribute_float?
functions still rechecks if surface, hair or volume attributes are requested. By calling the correct function we will reduce unneeded unrolling of heavy functions (kernel_tex_image_interp_3d
andkernel_tex_image_interp_3d
) that are never used.This will also increase performance as branching is eliminated and the size of the compiled kernels will be smaller.
