System Information
Operating system: Mac OSX 10.11.6
Graphics card: NVIDIA GeForce 9600M GT 512 MB

Blender Version
Broken: blender-2.80.0-git20190220.ee7c9790a254-x86_64
(example: 2.79b release)
(example: 2.80, edbf15d3c0, blender2.8, 2018-11-28, as found on the splash screen)
Worked: (optional) 2.79b

Short description of error

The MacBook Pro has two graphic cards between i can switch. The standard
graphic card is the GeForce 9400M. When i am open Blender 2.8 with this
one, everything looks ok, but the performance is not the best. So i had to switch
to the GeForce 9600 for a better performance. But when i opened Blender again the
user interface looks like the attached screenshot.

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error
Based on the default startup or an attached .blend file (as simple as possible).

Blender 2.8 requirements for VGA is OpenGL 3.2 compatible graphics with 2 GB RAM.
NVIDIA GeForce 9600 GT supports only OpenGL 2.1

Ok. Thank you for your quick answer, but my graphic card supports OpenGL 3.3.

Hi, I know it was a long time ago, but I got it to work on a standard 2009 MacBook with Nvidia 9400m.

I run fedora 32 on it (works with 31 as well).

Instead of installing blender from the repo, I downloaded it from the blender site and it works great, whereas what I downloaded from the repo wouldn't ever start. I don't know what the problem may be, but the logs of the repo version said that I did not run openGL 3.3, which I did, infact the version from blender.org works.

Maybe if you homebrewd it it's the same issue.

Hope this helped.
