Short description of error
I would like to have a scene with multiple collections. And that the visibility of each collections are triggered on a frame.
Let's say :

  • Collection 1 : visibile from 0 to 20 and invisible on the rest
  • Collection 2 : visible from 20 to 30 and invisible on the rest
  • etc...

How can i animate the visibility of collections by frame?
Or, is there another way to handle this that i don't know? (like drivers or something else)

And is there a way to prevent the objects in the hidden collections from being calculated?

Thank you,
Nohra

I believe this is a known limitation currently.

@Sergey Sharybin (sergey) can give more details.

It's not supported yet.

So there is no other way to animate visibility on objects for the moment ?

Do you have any idea when it will be supported ?

Thanks,

You can animate visibility of objects. The workaround then is to instance the collection and animate the visibility of that instancer object.

Thanks for the quick respond! I really appreciated!

But I can't find the parameter that control the visibility so i can add a key! And In the outliner i cannot add a key to the hide_viewport. I'm sorry to bother you with this. But could you send me an example scene of this situation so i can reproduce. And just put a quick steps with it. I've found some people struggling with it and think that they would like to see it too.

Thanks again,
And keep the good work guys, seeing you actively answering makes me want to continue working with blender
