EEVEE doesent render transparent alpha blend mode properly #62369

When using images as planes, with alpha blend, eevee seems to ignore the texture if a glass object is placed in front, does only work if the plane is solid.

Import images as planes, select png file with transparent backgroung, render settings > enable Screen Space Reflection > refraction, in Material > settings > alpha blend
display in render preview
place object with simple glass shader in front
voilah- doesent render any texture, only BG for some reason.

also, why does screen space refraction in the material settings ignore the texture even if its not alpha blend, for example: clip or hashed suddenly stop working as well if its turned on?

I can confirm this issue:
alpha.blend

I don't see anything mentioning this on https://docs.blender.org/manual/en/dev/render/eevee/limitations.html so I guess this is a bug?

This is because alpha blended objects do not write to the depth buffer and cannot be "raytraced". Only opaque/hashed alpha can be seen through refraction due to rendering order.

I'll add this to the limitations section of the documentation.
