User Preferences Inconsistency w/ Unchecking Keymaps #62486

System Information
Operating system: Windows 10
Graphics card: GTX 660M

Blender Version
Broken: Blender 2.80, 2019-03-09

Short description of error
Some of the keymaps settings delete themselves if you restart Blender with them unchecked. Some of them don't. Personally I definitely think that all the keys should not self-remove just because you uncheck them. It is a lot more difficult to add them back then it is to remove them so when I'm de-cluttering Blender I'd prefer just to uncheck some of the options I'll never use so I can toggle them back if that changes.

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error

  1. Uncheck a box under Keymaps->Window
  2. Uncheck a box under Keymaps->3D View (Global)
  3. Restart Blender
  4. Observe that the unchecked option under Window has been removed but the unchecked option under 3D View (Global) still persists.

Other issue found,

Unchecking any of the "Hide Collection" options does not really save. When you reload blender they just turn themselves back on.

I have not taken the time to track down all the bugs associated with checkboxes in this menu, but I would assume there are a lot more.

I can not reproduce this on my end. The bindings stay unchecked and not removed if I save my user preferences. If I don't save my user prefs, they will be turned back on when restarting.

Is this still an issue with the latest blender beta?

Interesting. Updating and clearing my appdata folder seems to have resolved this. Not sure how that fixed it but I suppose it's not a problem anyone else would expect to run into - perhaps some old lingering Blender versions interfering.

Thanks,
