Particle edit mode - Hide hairs doesn't work #62800

The "hidden" hairs can't be selected or edited

Short description of error
The hidden hairs are still visible.

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error
Add a hair system to the default cube
Switch to particle edit mode and then switch to point display/select mode
Select any number of particles, press H to hide

  • The hairs are only locked, not hidden

Blender 2.79 behaves the same.

I'm guessing this is working as intended, even though it does seem a bit odd.

@ZedDB, this indeed sounds like an intended behavior. The segments gets tinted down when they are adjacent to the hidden keys. This seems to be missing in 2.80, but is something which shouldn't be hard to bring back i think. This is up to the draw manager department i think.

P.S. There is an assert failure in debug mode when hitting H in 2.8.
