Broken grid when setting low Unit Scale #63158

System Information
Operating system: Debian Stretch
Graphics card: Intel Iris Pro Graphics (MacBook Pro Mid 2015)

Please note that it is apparently not specific to Debian Stretch as the issue does not appear on my other Stretch system.

Blender Version
Broken: 2.79b

I observe odd behaviour of the Blender's grid. When I set Unit Scale to something ~ below 0.1 the grid starts to behave in kind of a random way with different parts of it in different planes etc. When I move the view (holding mid mouse button) it shows up in different places, basically being broken in different ways in each frame.

See blender.stackexchange.com post where a screenshot of the issue is also attached:
https://blender.stackexchange.com/questions/135812/broken-grid-in-blender-when-setting-low-unit-scale

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error
Based on the default startup.
Change Unit Scale to a value below 0.1.
Observe broken grid

Same behaviour for both Debian package and Blender binary downloaded from the Blender site.

Please try the latest daily build, particularly 2.80:
https://builder.blender.org/download/

We are unlikely to fix such graphics issues in 2.79 anymore.

Thanks Brecht, 2.80 is fine indeed.

Just in case, the glxinfo bit requested by Sebastian:

That mesa version is quite old, so it might be that this has been solved in newer mesa releases for your card.

However, as brecht pointed out, we will not fix 2.79 issues like these anymore. As you do not have this issue with 2.8, I'll close this as resolved.
