Normals display does not change when edit normals

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error
normal_bug.blend

  • Open the file
  • Mesh > Normals > Rotate Normals
  • We can see the faces changing but not the normal lines

The vertex-per-face normals do update and rotate:

But regular vertex normals and face normals do not.

Hard to say if it's a bug, missing feature, or if it works as intended. Setting to confirmed for now, since it's not entirely clear.

Not a bug, only the custom normals can be manipulated.

Still, this isn't really clear for users why some of the normal display types update to reflect custom normals, but others do not.

We could probably at least clarify things by giving them a better name like Custom Normals, or something that makes the difference clearer.
