Update Tissue addon 2.8
Closed, ResolvedPublic

hi, this is the task for updating mesh tissue addon.
Author Maintainer @Alessandro Zomparelli (alessandrozompa) will need access to the Addons project.
He's well versed in git and is looking forward to working with Blender.

Raising status, I've been following the work in progress updates and they are nearly ready.

498d912a9d58 Initial commit. This addon has some issues that need solving, @Alessandro Zomparelli (alessandrozompa) is aware and will attend to. He has also asked for core dev help in solving some issues and will be in contact soon.

If the add-on has serious known issues, please don't update the version number and leave it disabled. We are close to the 2.80 release candidate and this is not the time to add unfinished features, and really we should just never enable functionality that is known to be broken.

Also see my comments in rBA498d912a9d58: mesh_tissue: initial update 2.80.

Hi @Brecht Van Lommel (brecht) as far as I know, the only issues at the moment are:
a. loading error related to numba module (as you spotted)
b. crash when try to use "animatable" features during the rendering

I will try to solve the first issue, and maybe disable the animatable feature during the rendering, mentioning that in the description.
In the meanwhile I'll try to make it fully functional also during the rendering.
Do you think it's ok?

@Brendon Murphy (meta-androcto) thanks for the support and sorry for the delay, now I'm ready to work on it. I will start trying to fix the know issues.

EDIT: with the last commit I should have fixed those issues. Now when trying to render the animatable option is off.

closing task, nothing more to do here other than maintain the addon. We can start a new task for any future major function changes.

Hi Brendon, Tissue is currently at v0.3.30. I did some updates lately. I hope to figure out soon how to contribute and commit Tissue changes to the Blender's Nightly version.

Hi @Brendon Murphy (meta-androcto) , I'm trying to take care personally of the Tissue version in Blender 2.81 nightly. I'm not really an expert with git, I usually use very basic commands. I'm wondering which is the correct way to commit. I created a publick key:

And tried to commit from both main folder and addons folder:

Am I doing something wrong? Is the master branch the correct one?
I was following this page:

Can you please help me figuring out what's the problem?
Thank you in advance!
