Operating System: Windows 10

Version 2.80 03672e77836d

Downloaded and unzipped latest version of Blender 2.8 (18.05.2019). Program opens as screenshot below:-

Blender 2.80 Screen Save.png

As can be seen from this almost everything one would have expected to see from previous versions of 2.8 are missing and absolutely no keyboard shortcuts now work. It is not even possible to toggle with the tab key into edit mode or to delete or deselect the default cube.

Incidentally Blender 2.79 still works on my computer.

Finally my apologies for not being able to provide more detailed information than the above.

Hello Maciej

The computer is just an oldish laptop, an Acer Aspire E1-570. Going by the sticker on the front:-

Intel Core i3-3217U (1.8GHz 3MB L3 cache)
HD Graphics 4000 up 1792 MB Dynamic Video Memory
8 GB DDR3 Memory
750 GB HDD

Ridiculously low spec for 3d graphics I know, but a 2.80 build from about a week ago seemed to work perfectly (although I did not try rendering anything with it) so I'm guessing the problem is with the latest build. Unfortunately I deleted the previous build before installing the current one so don't know if it was still working.

Operating system is Windows 10. Latest Windows updates installed three or four days ago (not sure if that is relevant!).

Hope the above helps.

I think it is related to windows 10 update as it often destroy the GPU drivers. so if u can instal newest intel HD GPU drivers and try again? i know that blender 2.8 on linux with intel HD4000 works fine so. probably drivers issiue

Looks like unpacking the zip file has gone wrong, please try again with 7zip and make sure all files make it to the file system.

Thanks for your help. Redownloaded the latest build and unzipped it with 7zip and that does seem to have solved the problem. Not something I would have thought of, so worth bearing in mind for the future as well. Again thanks.

Thanks also to Maciej. You may not have got the right solution this time, but the willingness to help so promptly is appreciated.

All the best.
