What happen there cause disappear circle on this Outliner

The green circle visible on left was replaced by the green text shown on the right. It was felt that it better indicated the selected object

The backdrop should stay imho - it suplements text colouring, since it indicates an ObData is in Edit Mode even when the tree is collapsed and the text not shown. Only thing it lacked was the fact that backdrop's outline wasn't use fill's colour and the border's opacity was not controlable.
What is backdrop, imho, indicates, Obdata?
