Blender 2.8 UI is completely different on Windows 8 #65299

System Information
Operating system: Windows 8.1
Graphics card: No graphics card, Intel integrated GPU

Blender Version
Broken: Blender 2.80 on Windows 8.1
Worked: (optional) Blender 2.8 on Windows 10

Short description of error
I am using Blender 2.8 on Windows 8.1 and the UI is completely different from that of the version I have on Windows 10 - which is the one everyone seems to have. It's the same build, more or less the same system configuration, yet the UI is completely different. I tried tweaking settings in the Preferences tab, but to of no avail. I have even taken the userpref.blend of other systems with the "normal" UI, but even that has no use. I have asked this question twice on both the StackExchange and the subreddit, but no one was able to help me. Can you please help me out? This is really bugging me.

I will share a few screenshots of my UI. I think you should be able to spot the difference.

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error
I have no idea if anyone else has experienced this error, but to my knowledge, no.

Based on the default startup or an attached .blend file (as simple as possible).
My userpref.blend, just in case.

  • Please attach the output of Help > Save System Info, so we can see exactly which integrated graphics card it is.
  • Please verify that you have the latest graphics drivers, from the Intel website.

Thanks a lot, the issue is now resolved. Just had to update the drivers. Thanks a lot for it, was driving me crazy.

There's a new error. In edit mode, this happens:

This started ever since I updated the drivers.
