Short description of error
Materials tab not open at the first time running the script in attached .blend file

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error

  • Open the attached .blend file
  • Click Run Script the first time
  • It just opens the Object tab
  • Click Run Script the second time
  • It then opens the Materials tab

It should open Materials tab at the first time clicking Run Script

Can reproduce. First time it throws this error in the console:
TypeError: bpy_struct: item.attr = val: enum "MATERIAL" not found in ()
Second time onwards it works, until you reload the file or run the script from a different screen area.

The properties editor contents is only really refreshed the first time it is drawn, not immediately when changing the type.
