Short description of error
Bezier object with only one point not selectable with mouse or box select tool

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error

  • Add a few Bezier point objects (Add Curve Extra Objects) at different locations
  • (Please refer to the attached file that has three such objects)
  • Try selecting these objects
  • They can be selected from outliner, with circle select (c) and select all (a) options
  • However they are not selectable with mouse click or box select (b)

Event Timeline

This is also true for other object types without data being drawn on the screen [meshes,surfaces,armatures,...], and a single point in a curve wont draw anything...
Lasso also works, also works if you display all origins:

Lasso and circle select origins (see, box and mouse select geometry [T64251 is very related]

@Campbell Barton (campbellbarton) , @William Reynish (billreynish) , @Brecht Van Lommel (brecht): should we make box select also work on [non-displayed] origins? (As a TODO in T64282)?

Sebastian Parborg (zeddb) lowered the priority of this task from 90 to 50.
Brecht Van Lommel (brecht) changed the task status from Unknown Status to Unknown Status.Jun 21 2019, 11:54 AM

This is just not a bug, it may be useful to improve once but some object are not visible in the viewport and as such can't be selected without origins.
