Deleting a branch is permanent. Although the deleted branch may continue to exist for a short time before it actually gets removed, it CANNOT be undone in most cases. Continue?
Hi,
I'm new to blender.
I would like to import a dxf file but I cannot enable the option under Blender User Preferences > Add-on > Import-Export AutoCAD DXF format.
How can I solve this issue?
Any help would be much appreciated

Currently Import-Export AutoCAD DXF Format (.dxf) is being updated for 2.80. Quick question, is it an option at User Preferences > Add-on > Import-Export AutoCAD DXF format or just doesn't work?If it isn't showing up make sure the community tab is enabled.

It is exactly the option you mentioned. I can tick the option but then it never shows up when I'm trying to import a file.
I've tried also version 2.80 and I'm experiencing the same issue

Does it work with 2.79
It doesn't work with 2.79. it doesn't work with 2.80. i tried both versions
In 2.80 and 2.79b you can only export not import.Is exporting as DXF an option in 2.79b as well as 2.80?

Looking at my 2.80 daily, I see TWO separate addons for DXF, one for IMPORT and one for EXPORT.
Each one shows up in the appropriate File->Import or File->Export menu.
Same with 2.79b release.

I'm using 2.80 now which is the latest release but I've tried also 2.79b before.
Import DXF option is not showing up in File >Import > AutoCAD.DXF even if I enable IMPORT DXF addon
The option under the Add-on is grayed out and even if I tick the box, IMPORT DXF would not be visible in File >Import > AutoCAD.DXF.

I'm very sorry, I was enabling the export option only that's why I couldn't see DXF under the Import option.
Problem is now solved.
I feel embarrassed for stealing your time for such an easy point.

In your addon screenshot, it says
Description: This script exports geometry to DXF format
Location: File -> Export -> Autodesk
You have the export addon enabled.

Does export addon work with anyone anymore?
I can't get it work with 3.0, 3.1 or 3.2 versions.. but in 2.83 and 2.93 it does work.

I'm also wondering if this function is still working. I really need to get dxf files out of blender. The import and export addons will enable and it shows up in the export options, but when I give it a name and hit export, no file is created. As a workaround I figured I could export an svg and then bring it into fusion to create a dxf file, but my svg file that is created is 1k and seems to be empty as it won't import into fusion. Any thoughts or help?
