Eevee DOF bug imported mesh #66956

Broken: 2.8 release candidate
Worked: this issue wasnt present around a month or so ago

When working with imported mesh from any cad software either .fbx, or .dae the models will usually have overlapping edges and faces, most of them can be resolved with remeshing, trips to quad and merge by distance tools. however not all are resolved causing the shown bug. this is causes in eevee because there are a few edges inside the window that overlap that the tool merge by distance dont cover them

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error
its kinda hard to reproduce as the import-export tools dont have enough control, and most archviz scenes are imports from other softwares like archicad, revit, allplan etc.

Not sure how much @fclem can do here.
For me this is only partially a problem with the render engine. The fact that bad geometry is rendered badly does not seem too surprising to me. However, maybe the algorithms can be adapted to reduce the artifacts.
